Read MoreIn the same way that there will always be a need for food assistance, we can move the needle on food insecurity by addressing the root causes.
Find Out MoreOffering immediate relief to ensure that children and families do not go to bed hungry is part of a broader strategy that addresses the underlying causes of hunger.
Do MoreWho We Serve
Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed — Essential, Working, Struggling
There is a misconception that food-insecure individuals are lazy, entitled, uneducated, unemployed, or homeless. The majority of families faced with food insecurity are working-class families — earning above the Federal Poverty Level yet struggling to afford all the basics such as housing, childcare, education, food, transportation, health care, technology, and taxes.
ALICE households span all races, ages, ethnicities, and abilities. They include workers whose wages cannot keep up with the rising cost of goods and services — often working two or more jobs and still unable to pay their bills. ALICE may be your relative, friend, colleague, or neighbor.
